Top of the morning to all of you!
Today we have arrived at Curacao, after flying from Amsterdam to Aruba, and a hop over to Curacao! It took us, Anja, Loïs and myself (Jaap) about 12 hours to reach our destination before we were up for a challenge to collect all luggage. We packed our bags conservatively: Diving Gear, Nikon D700 with all kinds of lenses, strobes and filters, Subal Underwater housing, some clothes, and off course … all of Loïs her gear!
Loïs did great on the plane, laughing at everybody, smiling at the Stewardess and sleeping whenever possible in her baby basinet!
Today (Wednesday) was our first full day on the island of Curacao, so we decided to get ourselves out of bed, off to Jan Thiel bay. This bay is an approx 5 minute walk to the beach
… Fully loaded on sun protection, and Nutrilon power drinks we went to investigate the option of diving in the afternoon. Loïs enjoyed the sun and heat

We managed to book some dives, and mine was already scheduled for this afternoon. I got myself back to the apartment ASAP, as I had to finalize my underwater housing setup. I decided to use my Nikon D700 with a 105mm VRII micro lens, including the rare Nikkor 5T diopter. This in order to train myself on some supermacro shots.
Below you can find one of my shots of a Juvenile Spotted Drum (about 1cm IRL).

My battery is running low, and since we only have 2 outlets 220V, I’ll save my work and get myself to bed …
Cheerios,
Jaap, Anja and Loïs
